It is my sad duty to announce the death of brother James A. Stroup.

Brother James was born on June 4, 1923

Entered on November 8, 1954

Passed on December 17, 1954

Raised on January 14, 1955

Died on February 3, 2014

Brother James was active with almost every Lodge within the 18th district, and would have received his 60 year commemoration this April.

We have all lost a great friend, and the fraternity a great brother.

Farewell, my Brother;  you have gone to meet your God, and may He approve of you.

Program Suggestions

R.W. Grand Master Robert J. Bateman has requested the initiation of a “Family Night” program to be run several times throughout the year.

He wants the Worshipful Masters to conduct a survey of Lodge members to see what they would like as a program for these nights.

To meet these requests, I have initiated an online survey, which you will find on the lower corner of this page.  I would ask that you have an idea for a program, whether for the Family Night or for a general meeting night, please take a moment to fill this form out and send it to me so that I might know what you would like to see at a stated meeting program.

Thank you for your assistance with this.

Master’s Message February 2014

Can you believe the first month of the new year is up already?  Boy, how time flies

I would like to thank those who came to the last meeting, and say that I hope to see even more of you as the year progresses

With our February Stated Meeting, our Sr. Warden, Brett Hinkle, will be providing our Masonic Minute, and Brother Edwin R. Young, PM, SD, will be exemplifying the examination of a visitor.

The Right Worshipful Grand Master has this year implemented several mandatory “family nights”, in which we invite our families to participate in our evening program.  To assist in this endeavor, we are also to supply each of the brethren with forms to fill out and return for family friendly programs.  To expedite this process, and hopefully save some funds as well, I have added an online form to the home page of our lodge’s website.  If you have any ideas for the family night, or any program that you would like to see throughout the year, please fill in this form and send it to me.

On a final note, I would like to see some more brethren at our meetings.  We are a family, and I would like to get to know some of you better.  If you have trouble with transportation, contact me, and I will do what I can to arrange  a way for you to get to the meeting.

I look forward to seeing you in the Lodge this February.

S. Andrew Baker III, Worshipful Master

Master’s Message January 2014

I would like to wish everyone a happy new year, and hope that your holiday season was a blessed one, filled with joy, happiness, friends and family.  As we look forward to 2014, I hope that the New Yea finds you and yours in good spirit, good health, peace of mind and joy of heart.

I am looking forward to serving as your Worshipful Master for this Masonic year, and would like to than all the brethren for their support and encouragement in elevating me to this position.  I will do my best to repay that trust.

At our January stated meeting we will be introducing our incoming officers for the upcoming year.  Please give them the same support and recognition that you have given me.

I know that you have all been busy with the holidays, family and friends, but please take a moment and check your dues card.  If it says 2013, then you need to send your dues check to our secretary, Bill Fritz.  This is an annual event, so please take care of this obligation as soon as possible.  Thank you!

One last item that I would like to add… we only had one new member brought in this past year.  If our fraternity is to prosper and flourish, we need some petitions.  Choose wisely, but please talk to people that you know, and bring some more brethren into the Lodge.  Together we can keep this Great Fraternity alive and well in South Williamsport.

I am looking forward to seeing you in the lodge this January.

S. Andrew Baker III, Worshipful Master
